I keep getting this error while downloadg updates to 1703 for Windows? One of the fixes is pausing the AV . Is it risky to do that and for how long? What are the procedures afterwards?
To make certain this is not caused by a infection, please try following these suggestions; Remove "Error # 0x80072ee7" pop-up virus (Microsoft Support Scam)
If this is not the case, a colleague more familiar with Windows 10 may add to the discussion.
Thanks, I'll do that. I never get this Windows error when browsing. It,s only by trying to download update 1607 that I got it and it came from a legitimate Windows at the end of the update which thus was never completed. One of the ways to have Windows Update go faster is to disable AV fwhile it's working . Other serious Windows threads in their community say to take oiut AV entirely and reinstall after the update has been successfully done. Are both those options safe?
This is just my opinion, however I always either Disable/Uninstall my McAfee Software when doing a Upgade such as a Service Pack. And then re-install it afterwards. As long as it is a legitimate Windows update, I see no problem Disabling your Software.
You still have your Windows Defender silently in the background.
