Windows Defender stopped working

When I go on Windows Defender I get a popup window that says Windows Defender is turned off by group policy. Windows Defender wont provide protection against harmful or potentially unwanted software and it wont send you alerts because it is off. To help protect your computer against harmful or potentially unwanted software, contact your system administrator to enable windows Defender via group policy.

I have McAfee installed on my computer and the subscription is current. Windows Defender always worked then one day it just stopped working. How do I get Windows Defender working again? I have Windows Vista.

Could you please confirm the following information;

Did you make any recent change to the computer ?
Do you use McAfee enterprise version or the Home version ?
Are you logging into the computer under administrative privileges ?

Dinz, I did not make any changes to my computer, I think I have the Home version and I dont know what you mean by logging into the computer under administrative privileges?

It happened to me as well.  Renewed McAfee Home version (the Suite)

Did you make any recent change to the computer ?  No changes were made
Do you use McAfee enterprise version or the Home version ?  Home
Are you logging into the computer under administrative privileges ?   No
