Why is there no information on the McAfee site saying that Symantec on-line Security Scan is incorrect when it says no antivirus software is installed?

I searched on this site, and I've seen some info on the Web saying that Symantec is flagging this message to scare people into buying this product, but the fact that McAfee doesn't say anywhere on their site that this is incorrect is bad business.  I even joined free chat support to ask why, and the guy on-line wouldn't/couldn't answer the question, he just said that McAfee is working correctly don't worry.  If I get around to it, I'll change products - I'd rather be with a shark who knows how to do business than a wimp who doesn't.

That would be up to Symantec to put on their site I would have thought.   I don't know if the reverse is true, whether or not McAfee detects their products.

But I would assume it is so you are persuaded to buy their products.

As they are competitors I doubt they even want to talk about each other in any case.
