Still have the problem, support couldnt help, so i have now removed mcafee completely and im now using other security software, which is a shame because i never used to have any problems, and the other bonus was i was getting mcafee free from my isp. Ohwell 😞
That is very strange that they couldn't help you. Something, somewhere is meddling with Internet Explorer because the SecurityCenter is an IE page. Do you want me to pursue it, if so you would have to switch back to McAfee of course?
it is strange that tech support couldn help you with this.
If you´re still willing to give it a try you can do this:
1-Make sure you still have IE 8
2-Download and Run this tool http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/McPartnerPreInstall.exe and then reboot.
If you did this having MFE installed check the status now, if not, reinstall MFE after running this PreInstall tool.
Please, kindly revert us back if it worked ok.
Try this steps.
Download and install java for 64 bit
run command prompt as admin
type in 1st: regsvr32/u jscript.dll then press enter
2nd: regsvr32 jscript.dll then press enter
3rd: regsvr/u vbscript.dll then press enter
4th: regsvr32 vbscript.dll then press enter
delete temporary files
reboot the comp., if you are using IE9 downgrade to IE8 and if its still showing a blank screen after this steps.
