Virus origin

Although it is a simple question yet it can help many newbies to understand the logic. How could we get ourself good informed that a new virus is launched so that we can take prompt preventive actions?

Re: Virus origin

Hello Shaunmichau & welcome to the McAfee Forums!

You've already partially answered your question...just by visiting this forum!  There are many other forums out there which endeavor to stay abreast of the latest virus/malware threats plaguing the Internet...all of which you can visit and even join as a member if you wish.  You can pick up a wealth of information from just about any of them, including right here at McAfee!

The one unfortunate reality is that when a new piece of malware rears its ugly head, it takes a little time for it to be reported and then the security software providers to develop methods to counter it.  As such, we're always a step behind the cretins who produce malware.  The best suggestion I can offer is for you to visit the various forums like the numerous invaluable articles regarding computer security, malware, etc, ASK QUESTIONS when necessary too.  The better informed you are...the more proactive your approach will be!

Perhaps some of our other forum members and Moderators can offer you more detailed information!

Re: Virus origin

Thank you Pete. I know that there are many resources available and even read some of them. My ideas was to identify some authenticated and precise places where I can get this answer. Because this is related forum so I thought if someone can exactly answer, it would help others as well.

Thank you for your time.
