Have had the product operating via BT Broadband (UK) for two years no problems. An update 8hrs ago stopped Internet access. Have gone back to retore date 3 days ago on computer and internet access returned but some of the capabilities of the product like scanning would not operate.
Removed all McAfee products with the suggested tool (on this website) . Reloaded product via BT website and it would not complete the installation. Ran virtual technician and it comes up with - problem: content issue and problem: update required. Have tried the process several times with same results. Computer Windows 7 Dell Studio XPS Internet Explorer 9. Any thoughts on solutions ?
Win 7 SP1 I trust? Uninstall everything via Control, Panel and run the MCPR cleanup tool listed under Useful Links at the top of this page or direct download here: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe Reboot and then reinstall from your online account. If you lose Internet access simply right-click the Network Icon near your system clock and select Diagnose and Repair. That usually fixes it. Yes have Win 7 with SP1. Have carried the procedure as suggested goes as far as part installation then a message box with Installation Incomplete with message - try installing again or run virtual technician. Ran the technician again - results still the same - content issue and update required.
That's weird. It could be the servers are down, but unlikely. I would first check for malware, run Stinger and Malwarebytes Free, both in the last link in my signature below, and do NOT accept the trial offer for MBAM as that will give you the wrong version.
Then if nothing found, contact Technical Support. It's free by phone or online chat and linked through Useful Links at the top of this page.
Thanks for the direction - carried out running Stinger - no errors then ran the Pro version of Malwarebytes which found 10 errors including 2 registry. Thought I had it cracked then re loaded McAfee - but it failed to load at same point as before - will contact technical support. Thanks.

If the latter try this:
If McAfee SecurityCenter displays a blank screen, it may be caused by an incorrect registry key that references jscript.
Download, unzip, and then Run as administrator the script that fixes this.
- Save any work. The script will ask you to reboot your computer when it completes.
- Click the following link and save the file to your desktop:
- Unzip the file you downloaded.
- Open the new folder.
- Right-click mcscriptfix.bat and select Run as Administrator.
- If prompted, click Yes in the User Account Control box.
- As this script runs, a black CMD.EXE (DOS Prompt) window opens. When prompted, Press any key to continue... and the CMD.EXE window will close.
- Restart your computer.
Have run the installation it completed after about 6 + minutes file size 158798. It then brought up a new window ' Please wait while instal...' this was displayed for about 1sec then a new window Installation Incomplete we couldnt any of the security features ..... I then ran Virtual Technician which displayed Some items could not be fixed Results Security Centre 11.6 Problem product update required. The update now selection fails to select when right or left clicked.
