Unable to install Total Protection under XP

I am trying to install Total Protection for 2 weeks now without success.

I can download it, and it starts installing as well.

It seems that there is a roll back moment in the installation.

No error message, only message at the end: "Installation could not be completed"

I have done everything that is mentioned in the forum to prepare the installation.

Removed old McAfee products, run the pre-install software.

It took all weekend to scan my PC several times for infections.

Only a few minor threats where found and removed.

Regardless what i do, the result remains the same.

If only i could see where the installation halts!!

Please HELP, i can not install my newly acquired software.

Please download and run MCPR.exe tool using this link below, after which try downloading McAfee software :

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Hello,

I was having the same issue as the about person.  I installed the tool mentioned above and now I was able to completly install Mcaffe but not I do not have internet access.  I also cannot run the CMD.exe on my pc.  MY PC is connected to the internet but I cannot open a web page.  Please advise.

Hello Rakesh,

It is not that simple :<(

I have done all this, the result remains the same.

One more thing, i even could not install Total Protection in the Safe Mode off XP.

It would help if i could see what stops the installation, like a progress window within the installation.

If there would be an issue with my XP OS i would be able to fix this.
