I have been having a problem, activating my McAfee AntiVirus Plus 2011, I have re-installed it twice, and every time I click to activate it a window pops up stating this "please wait while we connect to mcafee.com and this continues for hours but the activation does not occur 😞

Hello. Thank you for the response. I've activated it successfully. I just read the different activation problems here & tried the solutions. My problem was my internet explorer. I just reset it & yes it worked, the activation process continued almost immediately. I was soo frustrated. Thank you!

Could you please let me know the following details;
What is the operating system ?
How is the computer connected to internet ? (dsl/wireless/cable)
Did you previosuly use any other security software in the computer ?

My Operating System is Windows Vista - Home Premium
the computer is connected via wireless
The previous security software was Mcafee as well
There are chances that the computer migh still have remnants of your previous version of McAfee programs . Run the McAfee removal tol from here and restart the computer.Put in the disc and install the programs. Retry the activation . Let me know if you still face any issues.

I used the McAfee removal tool, restarted my computer and re-installed it, but I am still having the same problem, its been attempting to activate for hours just like before

Also I hope that you are not using any beta browsers such as IE9 for instance.
Despite whatever browser you have set as your default try the following:
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and click Reset, Apply and OK.
Close and reopen I.E. and go to Tools/Manage Add-ons and re-enable any add-ons you need.
Close I.E.
Try to activate again.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience Joke please try this give below steps .. .
1.Ran McAfee Removal tool . Click here > http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
2.When you try install McAfee through your disk chose Custom installation and install McAfee Anti spam alone.
3.Once installation was completed try to activate McAfee.
4.If Activation completed successfully then open McAfee and click on Navigation option in top right hand side.
5.In Navigation windows click Featuresin left hand side and install rest of the McAfee features.
