Total protection scanning results in error - sony vaio, win 7

Jump to solution

Hi,

I purchased and installed McaFee Total Protection on Oct02,2011 in my Sony Vaio running Windows 7. Since then, quick and full scan is not finishing completely and resulting in error. Error Message shows as follows "An unexpected error occurred during your scan. Please click OK to go back to home page, and then try running your scan again."

Then, I ran McaFee Virtual Technician and got the problem log which is reporting missing of 2 files.

"Expected File not Present

File c\program files x86\mcafee\siteadvisor\

components\imcffplg.xpt
Expected File not Present
File c\program files x86\mcafee\siteadvisor\components\mcffplg.dll"

Could someone help me in resolving this problem, so that I can run the scan successfully in my laptop.
