New to me a red exclamation marks on my Document-PDF and Photos files ect.
I have been trying to find information on the eclamation mark and what I find keeps coming back to Mozy online backup storage.
While researching I see that McAfee uses Mozy.
I do not use the McAfee online backup (to my Knowledge it appears to never have been used.)
Does anyone know if the red exclamation mark is related to McAfee?
If so can you please tell me if there in away to shut it off(get rid of)it?
Someone else had this same question a few days ago in a different part of the forum (I'll move you there in case their answer doesn't work for you).
The thread to look at is https://community.mcafee.com/message/160445#160445
Edit : If you decide to uninstall Online Backup, just ask here. I gather it's not always straightforward, depending on your McAfee product.Message was edited by: Hayton on 23/11/10 15:06:57 GMT
OK looks like you directed me to the correct link. Seems like uninstalling online backup is the way for me to go.
Can you or someone please give me instruction on how to uninstall McAfee's online backup. I have Total Protection. Windows 7
Seems to add/ remove programs for mcafee suite then add/ remove online backup and then run the MCPR removal tool found in useful links tab above. Then reinstall from your account but using the custom install and NOT choosing online backup.
Pity have to be the full box of dice to get it off.
Thank you for your help. It would be nice if it was easier to fix...a simple option button might work(warn on warn off.) LOL!
Thanks for your help I will get to it as soon as I get the courage.
If you recently replaced your computer, your files must be synchronized with your previous backups. And so your files will have red exclamation points on them until you complete a full backup with the new computer. A when a sucessful back up completes they would be present anymore.
