Outlook 2016 and McAfee add-in causing sending of blank emails

Sometimes when I reply to emails, Outlook sends a blank email to the person it goes to and it is also blank in my sent items.  If I forward the same email to myself, it inserts the following (or similar) into the message:

瀐㓞tml xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2004/12/omml" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">

If I disable the McAfee add-in in Outlook it works fine.  Looks like other people have same issues and MacAfee looks like it’s the problem. See here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/outlook-is-adding-unwanted-text/d711f20d-5aea...

and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/how-do-i-remove-this-from-the-first-line-o...

Any ideas how this is fixed or is McAfee just not compatible with the latest version of Outlook 2016?

Re: Outlook 2016 and McAfee add-in causing sending of blank emails

I have this problem too using McAfee Total Protection and Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 Home PC.

McAfee started put a footer on emails saying  "Scanned by McAfee® Total Protection™ and confirmed virus-free" on 21 Feb 2019 between 11.51 and 12.51 UTC. There a logo associated with this text which Oulook normally does not download. I manged to get rid of the header ꧀㏪tml xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2004/12/omml" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">  by downloading the logo so I suspect it has something to do with the adding of the Scanned by McAfee.. footer and logo.

Re: Outlook 2016 and McAfee add-in causing sending of blank emails

I would like correct the previous post. The addition of  footer on outgoing emails saying  "Scanned by McAfee® Total Protection™ and confirmed virus-free" started between 10th and 12th of Feb not on the 21 Feb as previoulsy stated. Sometimes the emails are sent correctly, sometimes they are completely blank and sometimes they have header ꧀㏪tml xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2004/12/omml" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">

Re: Outlook 2016 and McAfee add-in causing sending of blank emails

Have you got a solution for this problem?

Re: Outlook 2016 and McAfee add-in causing sending of blank emails

Is anyone from McAfee looking at this? Will there be a fix other than just turning McAfee add-in off?

Re: Outlook 2016 and McAfee add-in causing sending of blank emails

I am having this issue as well, and I know of at least one other person in the same position. This is starting to get annoying and embarrassing as my clients are either receiving Blank emails from me or ones with a line of nonsense. This makes me look unprofessional and may impact my business.

Can someone please look at this?

Thank You
