Not Updating and showing computer is at risk.

Since Christmas Day I've had a warning saying my computer is at risk and that I should update the DAT. The automatic update is turned on; it doesn't fix itself through manual updating either. I saw there was a post about "Update Holiday" on 25th December and 1st January, is this what is causing it? If so did they mean the "Update Holiday" to last 1 week?

I'm using Windows XP SP3, have no issues with the internet connection and have already tried clearing cache. I also have tried using the MVT which couldn't solve the issue, all it said was DAT is outdated.

Anyone else having the same issues and/or knows how to fix the problem?

Cheers

Rob

Try manually updating ie right click the shield and update.

If still no show run MVT from the technical support page in useful links tab above. It may fix it.

Re: Not Updating and showing computer is at risk.

Hi Rob,

Could you please let us know some of the following information,

What is the operating system of the computer ?
How is the computer connected to internet ? (dsl/wireless/cable)

Are you receiving any virus alerts in the machine since then ?

Do you have any other security software installed in the machine ?

Re: Not Updating and showing computer is at risk.

Hi Dinesh,

For some reason it has started working today, so something must of happened in the last 12 hours that fixed it.
