NetGuard makes Windows explorer crash

Windows 10 & McAfee are completely updated.

My application event viewer shows frequent crash events coming from explorer.exe.

If I uncheck NetGuard in the McAfee firewall configuration, I get no crashes, but I should keep "netguarding" explorer.exe, shouldn't I?

Thank you.

Re: NetGuard makes Windows explorer crash

Yes, you should keep it on.  The Event Viewer is simply a record of events nothing to be worried about.

Is it actually interfering with some process?

Run the Virtual Technician to make sure everything is as it should be.

Re: NetGuard makes Windows explorer crash

Windows explorer ends up crashing even with NetGuard off for this program. And it also crashes even with the McAfee firewall inactive.

The Virtual Technician says that everything's OK. So I have to keep investigating; perhaps MacAfee services are not responsible for this.

Thank you, Peter.

Re: NetGuard makes Windows explorer crash

Suggestion:  check for any malware using AdwCleaner and MalwareBytes Free, see Free 3rd Party Tools section of this page:

Also check for any other antivirus software that may still be installed, it may be clashing with McAfee.
