My Mcafee Antivirus Plus cannot retain its updates

Today I had to perform a system restore to an earlier point of time(20th April 2015) afterwhich my Mcafee Antivirus Plus has stopped working correctly.It is always trying to update itself,the updating gets successful but almost immediately it loses those updates and starts updating itself again after showing an alert message in the user interface.The last update date is shown to be 20/4/15.Please suggest how to fix this issue.Thanks in advance.

It's normal for updates to be necessary to any time-sensitive software such as anti-virus after a System Restore, but it shouldn't be repeating itself.

Make sure your system is totally up to date in all aspects,  including any part you may not use such as Internet Explorer for instance.   The software uses that in the background.

Also make sure that your system clock is accurate both time and time zone-wise.

Then run the Virtual Technician to see if it finds and fixes any issues with the software:  http://mvt.mcafee.com/
