Re: McHost Error and Synchronization

I branched this out from the McSvHost thread. McHost is another process entirely.

The line in the above information (Dr Watson, it looks like) that is probably the most relevant is

Stage1URL=/StageOne/mchost_exe/5_0_185_0/McMscShm_dll/11_0_654_0/0005f540.htm

I see the output, and if it's Dr Watson that implies a BSOD. Was that the case?

Re: McHost Error and Synchronization

No that was not the case. I keep getting the mchost.exe error multiple times than after a while it stops but starts again once I restart my computer.

Re: McHost Error and Synchronization

Okay : multiple occurrences, which means that McHost fails then is automatically restarted. Interesting. I don't see this running in Process Explorer, so it gets invoked for a specific purpose. I'll have to ask about this.

What's the "Synchronization" bit about? Is this mcsync?

Re: McHost Error and Synchronization

I read your second post but it doesn't apply to my situation. I do have a Windows XP machine however i have 4GB or ram and not to mention the error occurs once I start the machine even prior to running any programs what so ever.

Wait, this is getting confusing. You're looking at a reply to another question (McSvHost - yours is McHost).

Do you mean you have 4Gb of RAM in an XP machine? If so there may be a problem, since I believe the addressing in XP only allows for up to 3Gb (and the specs say no more than 2Gb).

Edit - Now going offline.

Re: McHost Error and Synchronization

Although not my thread in the begining but I've had the same problem as him for a long time.

I have Alcohol 120% installed and followed your instruction, rebooted and I've had no problems

since.

Thanks
