I did a system restore, and ever since then, McAffe has been telling me Real-Time Scanning is off. When I try to enable it, it turns itself off again immediately. It also tells me that it cannot update my software, even though I am connected to the internet. What do I do to fix this?
Since you have done a System Restore the Virus Signature files would be out dated, click on the Useful Links on the top of this page run the McAfee Removal Tool and then reinstall back the programs from the McAfee website - that should help you
I did a system restore,
As I understand you got the error "Real-Time Scanning disabled" after a System restore, you would run McAfee Virtual Technician to resolve the issue.
You may click here to download MVT if you don't have it installed on your computer. If the issue perists even after running MVT, you need to reinstall McAfee. You may run the removal tool by clicking mcpr and reboot the computer which will remove McAfee completely. You may then reinstall McAfee by going through your account webpage.
that is the Mcafee technician helper. It should fix it easily, I have had the same problem with my laptop when I had to system restore becuase of an annoying adware that Mcafee couldnt remove becuase of a TSCC rootkit. Fixed it with Kasperskies magical rootkit abilities though. But anyways run the http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/en-us/default.html?en-us and it will fix it if not follow the post above and reinstall. You can access your Mcafee account at any time and reinstall with no hassle.
