I had installed IE9, then found that McAfee was not compatible. I removed the IE9, McFee has disappeared. I have tried removing the files using the McAfee tool but no luck when I try to reinstall. The message is tells me that there is a problem installing and that i should click OK to fix. The program will resume when fixed.. The program never resumes installing.
The icon has disappeared from the tray. I cannot reinstall the program at all!
Anyone have a suggestion?
When you used the MCPR removal tool what did it say when it finished?
What operating system and service pack is this?
Can you use System Restore to go back to before all this started, i.e. before you installed IE9?
If so then that should fix it but you will have to right-click the taskbar icon and select "Check for updates" immediately afterwards or errors could start happening.
