How To Disable "Your Computer Is At Risk" Warnings...

Hey Everyone

I just thought I would share a video on youtube with you on how to disable those "your computer is at risk" warnings. This applies specifially to the firewall warnings. It's the closest thing I could find to stopping the program from bothering you all the time. Until of course, they fix it within the program

Let me know what you think.

Don't hold your breath

The YouTube video illustrates how to turn off McAfee firewall and turn on Windows firewall instead. Of course, you can do that, although I wouldn't want to risk it on an XP machine (maybe not on Vista either).

The only drawback is that a) you're accepting Windows default firewall settings and b) Windows lets you go in and modify those settings. So there's a temptation to do things that might actually make you a bit less safe.

The question of whether Windows firewall is inherently less effective than McAfee's on Win7 and Win8 is one I'll leave to the Senior Firewall Wranglers.
