My system is windows 8. After I installed Mcafee firewall 2013, My internet download speed slowed down to 0-9 MBps(uploading speed was normal ---90Mbps). Wifi connection was normal which are 50Mb for download speed . Only cable connection was affected. I had to uninstall 2013 and still use 2012 version. Howerver, yesterday after an auto-upgrading, the Mcafee 2012 firewall had the same issue. Is there any solution for this issue?

I mean the actual versions installed ie that are shown in the about box
about is found at top right of security centre 11 and 12 and on navigation page of security centre 12.1. Those versions are the boxed versions and the year is only a marketing tool the installed version is the thing to look at.
I have the same problem with my Mcafee and im on windows 8 aswell... Cant say Im happy with mcafee at all. It doesnt allow me to decide if I want to allow some programs or not - it should have that option.
And my internet is slowed down with the firewall on and sometimes slows it down just by having Mcafee open!!!
Im using Mcafee internet security and the firewall thing is (Mcafee Personal Firewall version:12.6 Build:12.6.186 Last update:11/18/2012)
Ok win 8 works with Sc11.6 but far better with Sc 12.1. A uninstall reinstall from the Au Us or Uk servers will get 12.1 and things might work better. You will have the new GUI made for win 8 as well.

The cable speed slowed down suddently under firewall. Turning off the firewall didn't work. Unstalling the firewall could solve the issue.
I have same version but on win 7 64 bit. Two choices
1. uninstall mcafee and reinstall it via
reboot and run
and reinstall from your account
2. After above call support as this is a new issue to me. If no solution post the SR number you are given and I will stir the techs at our Monday call
Sorry about that so best now to call support and have them log the issue and post teh SR job number here and I will also bring it up in our Monday mod call.
