Does Scanning:rootkit mean I have a virus?

Jump to solution

In my Mcafee scan it states Scanning: Rootkit. Does this mean my laptop is infected?

No that quite often can be misconstrued. It simply means it is scanning the system to make certain there is nothing deemed untoward.

To answer it straightfowward, NO.

Hope this helps...
