Sorry you were lead through such a rigmarole houstonceng. What you did was basically what we and the posted fix details suggested, reinstall.
You must have hit the support pages when the servers were busy or something because I just tested it in both Firefox 10 and IE9 and both browsers loaded the MVT Installer just fine.
By the way it's best to use McAfee's own software cleaner in these cases.
