'Debris' leftover frm McAfee Remote Access Sessions.

Is it too much to ask that McAfee 1st, 2nd & 3rd-line support techs at least attempt to 'tidy-up' at the end of their remote access sessions?

I usually have to spend about an hour after each remote access session with McAfee techs putting my system back to what it was and deleting all the 'crud' they have left behind.

It's bad enough having the sessions run for several hours, never mind having to do their tidying up afterwards.

I've never experienced that myself, they've always cleaned up.

I guess you were unlucky.

Too bad.

Re: 'Debris' leftover frm McAfee Remote Access Sessions.

As you say, McAfee's technical support is excellent; however, their housekeeping is something they could improve on.

I trust they didn't leave a log collection switched on?

There are many files in my temporary files folder with names similar to 'MSI82711.log' & with sample content similar to -

Re: 'Debris' leftover frm McAfee Remote Access Sessions.

Meanwhile empty your Temp folders by doing the following:

Click the Windows key + R

Type in temp and hit Enter and OK any prompts

Once they're displayed click Edit > Select All

Then click Shift + Del to delete them.

Not all will go as you'll discover, this is normal.

Just follow the steps logically.

Do the same but type in %temp% this time

Follow the same steps.

Re: 'Debris' leftover frm McAfee Remote Access Sessions.

Thank you for the information.

As you say, most have been removed; the ones that remain are accounted for by background apps, Outlook & McAfee TP for example.
