The download page is not available! after I removed mcafee due to the recent BT issue. I'm on £1200 quids worth of PC here and I'm pretty peeved off! I've also lost a days work today!
This dwnload page will not display.
I get that message all the time in Chrome, on all sorts of websites. Wait a bit and reload the page, that usually works. You may need to flush the DNS cache or renew the lease - in a command window enter ipconfig /flushdnsand see if you can connect to the site.
Edit - And try the tip in the message about disabling Network Prediction in Chrome. I did and it helps.Message was edited by: Hayton on 25/08/12 17:35:16 IST
I've emailed a few people in Support about this. Strange that I can reach the UK download page fine. I'm wondering if the UK is having a DNS problem?
See the other thread at https://community.mcafee.com/thread/47993?start=0&tstart=0
I can get to the sites okay but remember, for downloads across Europe McAfee farms out the work to Akamai. If the problems are only in the UK then it may be a problem with Akamai or one of its servers. The isitdown.co.uk service reports a 404 from download.mcafee.com BUT that may itself be misleading. More relevant is that I can connect to the download service using the link in https://community.mcafee.com/message/253309#253309 to get MCPR.
