A few questions about removing McAfee completely

Hi to all,

I have used the "Uninstall" option to remove all trace of McAfee from my computer - is this enough or are there other steps to undergo ?

Will there be problems after I have chosen a new anti-virus if some of the parts of the software McAfee are remaining ?

I am especially concerned about any "spyware" type within McAfee - how can I be sure that all is gone ?

Many thanks to people in this community for help on this.

Re: A few questions about removing McAfee completely

Hi, there is no spyware inside McAfee I assure you but you can make sure everything has gone by running the software cleanup tool:

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

You will be asked to reboot after it is finished.  Do so immediately and everything should be gone.

Any problems, Technical Support is available free of charge by phone or online chat between 0900 and 1800 Monday to Friday and linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.

However assuming you only had the regular home software installed you shouldn't need their help.
