I tend to think McAfee is a bad software to have. The company doesnt have the good quality people to fully understand what they are providing for.
I had cwrsync server installed and a company's laptop (which has the crappy saftboot - now called endpoint) would pull the safeboot wrongly onto my own laptop.
After so many communications back for with McAfee, they couldn't even figure out what had happened.
If the safeboot was installed by me, I had to take a train to Texax from Maryland to get the CDs.
If you're going to post stuff like this James, at least post the FULL thread where we discussed your problem.Message was edited by: SafeBoot on 3/31/14 9:48:48 AM EDT
The problem has not been resolved at all. Why would the software be pushed over "network" onto my own PC and locked it?
I lost my job because of your "bug".Message was edited by: sunw_dream2000 on 3/31/14 10:50:05 PM CDT
The most likely explanation is you used crsync to copy the installer to your personal machine from your work machine, and then accidentally ran it by clicking on it.
We found no evidence remember of any remote control or remote install software on your personal pc.
There's no "bug" in the software - it simply does not have any function to reach out to an anonymous pc, break the authentication and install itself.
