we are operating McAfee Quarantine Manager 6 (MQM console operating with SSL) and set an email digest in HTML format. The digest has the usual closing lines with the MQM console URL, but the link refers to http rather than https, that we have set MQM to use.
The only KB article that I have found is on changing the server name in this closing line but not on how to change the protocol name.
Thank you for any advice.
Yes, I had a support chat with a technician and fiddled with settings in IIS. Found out that if I set SSL of MQMUSerUI to Ignore or Accept, the client can open user UI. If I set it to Require, the client cannot open the user UI (rightfully, because the client doe snot have any certificate. We would like the server certificate to be used). Neither of them has solved the issue. (The original issue was that the email digest displays http in the URL name, whatever was the IIS setting above. This issue is still under resolution. I'm going to post when they come up with a workaround or solution or confirmation that this is bug or something.)
HTTPS traffic seems to be nobody's child when it comes to actions available in email digest. These are again use http and not https, resulting in failure of the action.
Making digests secure is something that needs an little bit of investigation. Could you please open a case for this?.
Yes I have opened a case for that already. I'm keeping this thread open to post the findings of support and the possible resolution for others here to see and learn.
To all interested,
this issue is resolved with HF 546795 (must be requested from support). The hotfix must be installed on MQM 6 Patch 1, and resolves this issue plus a connected issue where quarantined items could not be manipulated (i.e. release, whitelisted, deleted, etc.) through the digest mail when MQM server uses SSL.
