Windows Explorer / Execution Denied

Jump to solution

I have a folder that i've set to a skiplist -d by policy that seemingly works; the user is able to modify the contents as he needs to (he's a developer).  The skiplist relative path is written as:   \Program Files\ShipWorks\

I have a user trying to populate the contents of that folder in File Explorer but is being blocked from doing so:

Deny Reason Local allow list: File not present in allow list
Description Application Control blocked this file because it is not in the allow list. To execute this file, add the file to the allow list.
Event Display Name Execution Denied
Event File MD5 ******
Event File Name C:\Program Files\ShipWorks\2022.0.0\bin\net\launcher.exe
Event File SHA-1 *****
Event File SHA-256 ******
Event Generated Time 2/11/22 1:50:42 PM EST
Event ID 20720
Event Name EXECUTION_DENIED
Event Sequence Number 901
File Type pe32
Generated by an Updater No
Generated in an Update Window No
Parent Process Name C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe
Performed By ******\******
Process ID 15204
Process Name C:\Windows\explorer.exe

What can be done to allow the user to view the contents of that folder in File Explorer?

Please advise.

Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to McAfee Community Channel.

You can perform skiplist -f or -i pathname which should probably resolve the problem
