Solidcore Denying DXL Registry operation

We have an issue when trying to update the McAfee Agent on some of our machines with Solidcore. The DXL portion appears to not be allowed to write its uninstaller to the registry. Has anyone seen this?

The update is to McAfee Agent 5.6.6 and Solidcore versions 8.2.1 and newer. We place the device in update mode and include a restart after but still see this issue. The event appear to happen during a restart but I can't be 100% certain of that.

There doesn't appear to be any impact to the computer but I would like to get this resolved.

Re: Solidcore Denying DXL Registry operation

Hello @tucker84

We might need to look into the complete log set to give the resolution on this . Very likely as you said this is not going to have any impact on the machine though

  • Does it happen in observe mode?
  • does it happen if you disable mp?
  • does it happen if you disable execution-control?

We need to figure out what is calling dxlsetup-ma.exe on startup.

I would request you to capture the MER from the impacted machine and raise a SR with McAfee Technical Support for further assistace.

Thank you
