Solidcore Agent manual install than manage by epo

Jump to solution

Hi,

has anyone tried to installe Solidcore Agten manually? And after that get the agent managed by the epo?

There exists an KB Article for that:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB69408

And there is a script that should do the trick. But it does not.

How to manage it?

Thanks

(newest Solidcore Version, Install first Agent, than Solidcore Agent, then run the Script to get Solidcore Client under Control by ePO)

Hi,

I managed it myself. Just forgot to post the solution:

The batch file from McAfee has some Bugs, yes right. Fixed it without help of support.

But what is really important:

If you use another language than English for the Client Operating System then double check Registry Key pathes and also pathes of filesystem!

And you have to replace the dlls of the downloadable zip from mcafee with the latest one. Also check that the Versions in the Batch accord to your dll versions.

Greetings

It works now!

But only with Windows 7! (altough in the info of McAfee Agent solidcore is not displayed. If you install via epo, it is)

With Windows XP it does not work.

Anybody got an idea?

Hi,

We managed to get it working with XP using Altiris to install and then run a batch file.  It was a bit of a battle though it seems reliable now.  The initial batch file and a zip "sc-managed.zip" of the registry updates was provided by McAfee support.    The original batch file had several bugs in it that had to be corrected before it would function.
