Hello,
we have issues when trying to install Solidcore 6.3.0-152 on RHEL6.6 in following environment:
ePO: 5.3.2
McAfee-Agent on Linux-Server: 5.5.1.362
When installing the Solidcore Package via ePO-Rollout the setup finishes but the services are not starting. the install-log states:
Executing "export SC_EXECUTE_BAT=1; /usr/local/mcafee/solidcore/scripts/scsrvc start"
Script exit code: 2
Starting the Soldicore Service also fails.
We tried already different Linux-Machines with the same RHEL release, all are failing... Same behavior if we copy the whole package to the Linux-machine and install Solidcore locally
for the logfiles after the installation please see below , do you have any idea what can cause this behaviour?
Thanks and kind regards,
Chris

You can see that your kernel is not supported.

Hi CSchu,
The mater you report here is not an ePO matter I'm afraid, with the local install failing whatever is stopping the ePO deployment from completing will most likely be the same for the local install from completing.
That said to solve that condition and the install should run correctly locally or remotely.
Looking over the logs you provide the reason for the failures is recorded in the log named:
soldicoreS3_install_6.3.0-152.log
It reports:
"Kernel 2.6.32-504.49.1.el6.x86_64 is not supported by McAfee Solidifier for this OS release. Set of supported kernels is:..."
It then goes on to report the kernel version it does support.
If you can update the host(Kernel) to one of the revisions it list the install should run to completion for you.
Take a look at the error message in that log it does offer a comprehensive list of versions it does support!

Thank you very much for the quick reply Hawkmoon, it seems i only checked for the supported operating-systems here https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB73341 but not for the supported kernel...
As i know, that these are already old servers, can you maybe suggest me an Solidcore version to be used?
I found already McAfee Application Control (MAC) 6.1.4, which supports in Build 262 Kernel 2.6.32-504(see https://kb.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB82066) but it doesn't explicit mention Kernel 2.6.32-504.49.1.el6.x86_64.
Do you think this should be fine or shall i rather try 6.1.4 Build 268?
Thanks and kind regards,
Chris
Well to be honest if the KB does not mention it then I'd say its not a supported version!
However, I'm no Solidcore/Application control specialist, so I'd suggest the best way forward is to place a call to that support team and get confirmation one way or the other.
