I worked with McAFee support, This is a known issue as per the KB below.

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB87839

MACC-9256                       8.3.0.303              8.3.2.270              Issue: After installation, Windows hangs on start or causes startup to hang. Affects Windows 7 and later.

Solution: Fix in 8.3.2.270 and later + set "sadmin config set ServiceStartFinetune=7" after install before reboot for new boot changes.

Also with MACC 8.3.3 this feature is configured inbuilt.

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/application-change-control-8.3.x-release-notes-windows/page/GUID-BA4E...

I Upgraded to 8.3.3 and it resolved the issue.

Hi @User76329314 ,

You can recover the system by disabling SolidCore in SafeMode.

The issue may not be related to MemoryProtection. Try re-solidifying the drive.

Thanks

Hi @User76329314,

Thank you for your post. Disabling memory protection is not expected to crash your PC.

For recovery, at the moment, please follow this work around:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB85958

Post this, please log a support request with us, This would require investigation based on logs and possible a memory dump since it is a crash.

As a general practice, we suggest using the latest version (issues like these are seen in the past with older version, although, I cannot quite recall an issue where turning off  Memory protection had caused an issue!)
