We have Solid Core v6 installed on mutiple client sites. The Solid Core is enabled with a password and CLI is locked down.
When applying software updates, we will use sadmin commands to change the Solid Core from enabled to update mode, run the software updates and then change the Solid Core back to enabled mode.
We like to automate this process by putting those commands in a batch file. The issue we have is the the Solid Core commands to change mode require us to enter the pasword.
Does Solid Core support passing the passward as a commandline arguement? If not, what should we do to automate the software update procedure?
sadmin recover -z <password> should do the trick
Storing plaintext passwords in scripts is however not really a good solution 🙂
sadmin password -z <password> in a bat file will pass it. but your password will be visable in plain text.
