Execution of script blocked in enabled mode

Jump to solution

Hi Guys,

I am trying to execute a script but it keeps getting denied. I looked at the SolidCore Event and created a policy based on the error but no luck, I then went to policy discovery and did a Allow File Globally same thing no luck. Finally I tried to put the file path X:\**\*.ps1 same issue.

Any Idea what I am doing wrong? It looks like the file name keeps on changing, when I select allow locally under Enterprise level activity: Script Execution, I don't see anything happening as well.

Thank you

Hello @boby93,

Thank you for posting on the community.

From what you posted, I guessed that this KB may be applicable, so I hope you can check it.

This is detected by execution-control, so if you think you don't need execution-control, it can be disabled with the command of "sadmin features disable execution-control".

You can check about the feature from here.
https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/application-change-control-8.3.x-product-guide-windows/page/GUID-9C8E...

If the above does not apply to you, could you please provide some more information, such as the version of the software and the output of the event that was detected?

Thank you

Perfect Thank you,

Another question, if I end the observe mode, in what mode my managed device will be?

@boby93

Thank you for your reply.

It depends on the previous mode. If it was Enabled mode last time, it will return to Enabled mode when you exit the observation mode.

You can check about the Software modes from here.
https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/application-change-control-8.3.x-product-guide-windows/page/GUID-714C...

I hope this helps.
