Why doesn't this update work?
I'm having the same problem, and I also installed mine from the purchased CD. I tried signing on and downloading using Mozilla and from Internet Explorer, neither worked.
I have exactly the same problem; the software came from DELL in a sealed DVD Box. BTW, the result (Error 404) is what I get trying to download a pdf guide to Total Protection 2009 - some links on the McAfee site seem to have unravelled? Is there perhaps a correct URL we can go to for the update please?
I also have the same problem. Originally installed from boxed CD of stand-alone program, purchased from local retail store. The web-address the link is trying to access is: http://download.mcafee.com/Molbin/secure/iss-loc/math/en-US/1.5.101/3/mat_184.108.40.206.exe?__gda__=1260...
See screen shots of messages in attached file.
Thanks for the screen shots and information, I'm looking into this and will keep you posted.
As a work around for now, are you able to sign into "My Account" at http://home.mcafee.com/ and download and install from there?
