Problem with McAfee Addin and Outlook 2016

Running McAfee Total Protection all up to date.

Running Windows 10 Pro version 1803, Office 365 Home version 1808.

I have an odd problem with Outlook that is related to the McAfee Addin. Disabling the McAfee addin gets rid of the problem.

A little background. I recently installed Office 365 on a new Dell XPS8930. All ran well for about a week or so, then this problem popped up. Earlier in the day all was well, then it started happening. Could have been after a McAfee update, but cannot iknow for sure.

First, I do not have the messages set to send immediately upon sending to the Outbox. When I hit send the message goes into the Outbox waiting for me to hit ‘Send/Receive All’.

The problem is that when I send the first message to an empty Outbox, it cannot be transmitted. It has that icon at the left end indicating that the message is not ready to be sent. When I send a second message to the Outbox, it is ready to be sent. If I hit ‘Send/Receive All’, it goes. After sending if I send another message to the Outbox, it will also transmit.

If, however, I send a third message to the Outbox, the icon on the second message will change and it will not be ready to transmit, but the third message will be ready to send.

Confusing, huh?

As an illustration I created two test messages, test 1 and Test 2. Sending the first message to the Outbox, the message is not ready to transmit. When I send the second message to the Outbox it is ready to transmit (See screen shot below).

Another symptom, If I continue to add messages to the outbox, only the last one will be transmitted. I have to transmit after every message I send to the outbox. Once a message gets to the state where it cannot be sent, I cannot just open it and re-send it to the outbox. It must be deleted and recreated before it is capable of being sent.

I have done both a quick, then a full repair of Office 365 (which basically reinstalls Office 365), but the problem still persists.

@MagicBob58

This is a strange issue. Please let us know the McAfee version installed on your computer.

Run MVT tool by following the KB TS101111 and reboot the computer. Check the status.

If the issue still persists, Reinstall McAfee.

Should I uninstall McAfee Total protection before reinstalling?
Do you have a McAfee tool to completely remove the program?

Bob
