Extra McAfee Anti-Virus Folder?

I have Windows 7 with Outlook Express. Every time I open Outlook Express a new McAfee Anti-Virus Folder is added under the Inbox. These folders accumulate and after some time I delete them. How can I stop these folder from being added to the Inbox?

Without more details it's difficult to advise you.  Is this the home products or Enterprise/Business?

Is your taskbar icon shield-shaped or square?  This extra folder must be an Anti-Spam folder if it's appearing in your mail client.

If it's the home version you should try uninstalling via Control Panel/Add or Remove programs (XP), Programs/Uninstall a Program (VIsta/Windows 7)

Run the MCPR removal tool.

Reboot and reinstall your products as it sounds like they are corrupted.

If you don't want Anti-Spam installed use the Custom option to only install what you want and use the online account rather than any CD you have.

If you are in the habit of running registry cleaners/optimizers, stop as they often cause this kind of problem.

Moved provisionally to Anti-Spam 11 - 2010 as the most likely spot for it.

Re: Extra McAfee Anti-Virus Folder?

In the short term you can just disable the Outlook plugin from inside the Security Center application.
