Anti-Spam webmail with gmail

I'm trying to setup McAfee Anti-Spam webmail filtering to work with my gmail account.  Is that possible?

I have IMAP enabled in my gmail account.

Since I use 2-step verification with google, it created a unique password to share with 3rd party apps.

I made the suggested changes to my McAfee Firewall ports.

But it keeps giving me a ERROR code that it cannot connect with my webmail server.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Ensure IMAP is enabled
  • Configure the webmail rule as follows
    • with Port No. 993
    • Enable Mail Server (IMAP) Port 143 in McAfee Firewall
    • Add the port as TCP in McAfee Firewall for 993
    • Enable Port 80 in McAfee firewall
  • Go to Google Settings & select Accounts and import
  • Select Other Google Account Settings
  • Select Sign-in & Security à Device activity & security events
  • Underneath Apps with account access ensure “allow less secure apps: ON”

 Configure webmail in McAfee antispam.

Re: Anti-Spam webmail with gmail

I appreciate the help and I've read that solution before but I'm referring to using 2-step verification password system with google account and they offer this as a work-around the verification process.

Was curious if any experts knew this was available from google to avoid “allow less secure apps: ON”.

But thanks again.
