Cannot add vATD to Cluster anymore

Jump to solution

Hey guys,

we have an ATD-3000 and a virtual ATD. Until release 4.4.x they were running in a Cluster.
But since Release 4.6.x we cannot get the ATDs working together in a cluster again. The following errormessage is shown when trying to add the vATD to the cluster:

2020-11-28 00_28_27-ATDCluster-Error.jpg

Did i miss something ? Is this a bug in 4.6 ? I cannot find any hint on the Knowledge Base about this error, or any announcement that Clustering has changed since Release 4.6.x

Best regards
    Marcus

HI marcus69

From our McAfee ATD FAQ please see the following statement:

Can I cluster virtual ATD appliances and is it supported?
Yes. You can cluster a vATD device with other vATD devices; but, you can't mix and match virtual appliances with physical ATD appliances. Your cluster must be either all virtual or all physical devices. Clusters of mixed vATD appliances and physical appliances are not supported.

So it is no longer permitted.
