I am getting problems today with ATD crashing with PDF files, I expect an update of the Adobe PDF viewer might be required but I note that issues with PDF causing VMs to crash was addressed in 4.8.2 from the release notes so it seems a good time to upgrade.
What is confusing me is what the actual process? Some docs refer to this upgrade using the migration package while the release notes state 'If you are on McAfee Advanced Threat Defense 4.8.0, you can directly upgrade to McAfee Advanced Threat Defense 4.8.2 using the system-4.8.x.xx.xxxxx.msu package.'
I had though the system .msu packages were for first time installations?
Could someone confirm and where this correct upgrade package is implemented e.g. via SFTP upload then 'System Software' install menu?

Hi J1mX1
Migration packages are used to migrate between ATD versions. For example 4.2.0 - 4.4.0 or 4.6.0 - 4.8.0
System packages are used for interim upgrades. For example 4.2.0 - 4.2.2 or 4.8.0 - 4.8.2
To upgrade from 4.8.0.17 to 4.8.2 you will need system-4.8.2.13.cc86f4.msu
Upload system-4.8.2.13.cc86f4.msu to ATD using Winscp/FileZilla connecting with the atdadmin account.
This will place the file in the correct location of ATD so you fild it in the 'System Software' install menu in the ATD GUI.
