Our machines are set up to email our helpdesk if they detect a virus that they are unable to remove. Yesterday we received such an email but are unable to find the machine in the EPO database, either through the EPO console or by directly querying the SQL server. The machine name does not appear in EPO and more worryingly, neither does the Agent GUID. We cannot trace the machine by IP address as the address listed in the alert email belongs to our VPN and the MAC address field of the email was blank.
How is it possible for a machine controlled by EPO and which receives its reporting policy from EPO, to not be listed in the EPO database?
