Hello its me again! I have tried safe mode and the usb which has started the uninstall process but it has now sated on Notepad that the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process??
I will try and reload it again and see if this works if you have any further suggestions.
When the restart logged on the McAfee started again and blocked the internet. Argh!!!! Anymore suggestions? I will try and run the exe again and see,
Thank you so much for your time.
Try right-clicking it and running as administrator.
Tried it a few times. We are trying to get the Administrator password from the boys dad who purchased him the laptop and set up the McAfee but he won't give us his password for his email account. I think he just wants laptop back? Oh dear!!
We will still try!
I'm going to have to flag this for one of the experts as I'm running out of ideas, but here is one more.
Go to Start/Run and enter msconfig and click Ok
Go to the Startup tab and uncheck anything McAfee click Apply/OK and restart.
See if the MCPR will run again and this time not get interrupted.

Well all he can do with it basically is reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows - if he's got the operating system installation disk. That's a lot of work if the disk doesn't include the latest service pack.
Do you want me to flag this and ask for some experts to chime in?
I thought we had it then but no... I would appreciate it if you could get some more advice if possible as we are still hitting a brick wall with obtaining the administrator password from the ex-parent.
We are very grateful.
OK I'll ask for help. I can't promise it'll be immediate but I'll do my best.
No you have done alot so far... hopefully we can get sorted without having to buy a new laptop as his mum and the boy is getting frustrated. I tried to reset to factory settings but the laptop had come back from the shop as the boy had gotten frustrated with the pc and threw it. Unfortunately his ability to be patient is non so why his dad put the control on is beyond me. I have re-set the system password and set up an administrator for his parents now to control this if we can get this sorted.
Many thanks from England.
Thanks and good luck. Hopefully someone will react to my internal request.
