Do you have Malwarebytes on your computer?
If so please do the following:
I have run it about 5 times, yes I have it, but its not picking anything up that fixes it. Thats why I asked if it will not fix it if it is already open and running??
Apart from that do I have to go into the registry anywhere and find something??
This is really annoying now.... next step re-install XP.. Ouch!!

I've also encountered this virus, any fixes. I've McAfee AV sw and have updated with latest definitions
I just joined this community, but I wanted to contact you since I noticed you encounted the same issue I am having with my computer. I contacted McAfee a few minutes ago for assitance but they were not able to assist me with my issue. As matter of fact, they suggested that I buy one of their products for $89.95. I just don't know if it's worth it. I don't know what else to do to fix this problem that I've been having for the last 5 days.
I hope someone has a resolution for our problem.
First clean up all temp and internet temp files
If you think you have a virus infection on your PC do one or both of the following :

If you want a second/third opinion, or to be on the safe side, then you can do a scan with the free versions of these tools :
If you already have Malwarebytes installed, the virus could be protecting itself against it. In that case, in order to get Malwarebytes running you'll need to rename the executable. Open theC:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Antimalware folder, then rename the "mbam.exe" file and double-click directly on the file to open the program. After updating the program, run a full system scan usingMalwarebytes.
Make sure both programs are updated to the latest versions before running them and let them clean anything they find. If they quarantine a file or fail to remove a file try to get a copy of itand send it to Mcafee using the virus submission path described here :

I just had a similar experience earlier this evening, with screenshots looking very similar to yours. The one difference is what I stated in a post I just made in this discussion forum, namely the dialog box that opened said "Microsoft Security 2011" in the upper left corner of the box.
