In Internet Explorer to add a search provider you go to Tools/Internet Options/General and click Settings next to Search.
On that page go to bottom and click 'Find more search providers'
That takes you to the online gallery.
At the bottom of that page click "Create Your Own Search Provider"
You get this page: http://www.ieaddons.com/ca/createsearch.aspx (change language accordingly at top right)
There you can enter the URL of the Search provider.
The problem with McAf.ee is, it is not a Search Provider, it is only a URL shortener, so Internet Explorer doesn't recognize it as a Search Provider at all.
Safeboot, what she is looking for is a McAf.ee add-on for Internet Explorer, is there one?
Thank you for SafeBoot.
I was able to get the results wanted.
When there is not add-on of Internet Explorer, I often add items to the following address search providers.
Add Search Providers to Internet Explorer
If there is add-on so that you say , I am surely glad.
They took down the page on Microsoft's website. I did find another website with this script on it here:
It does the same thing. So you might want to SAVE IT to your computer so you can use it.
