ProTip for SIEM: How to key a SIEM device running in FIPS mode

Version 1

When users attempt to key a SIEM device that is running in FIPS mode, they may encounter an error message advising them to contact their key certificate administrator. The strict security requirements of FIPS compliance mean that it is not possible to give all permissions to any one user — including NGCP. Even though the NGCP account is typically used for all administrator functions, a different account must be granted the key certificate role. This particular role is known as the Key Certificate Administrator.

For more information on how to assign any non-NGCP user the Key Certificate Administrator role, see KB82842.
