Intel Security  ProTip for VSE: How to Determine if Configuring Scanner Exclusions will be Effective

Version 1

It is not uncommon to have to finely tune VSE's On-Access Scanner in order for the scanner to fit the needs of the environment. This allows users to maintain a tight security footprint, while at the same time alleviating scanner overhead due to systems that incur high file activity. For any scenario where disabling the On-Access Scanner improves overall system or application performance, users can use the "zzz" test to then determine if setting an exclusion will produce the same desired result.

KB67648 article will provide guidance on performing this test.
