SNS ProTip for ePO: Do not Upgrade Windows on an ePO Server

Version 2

To help you maximize your ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) deployment, McAfee SNS ProTips deliver troubleshooting, best practices and how-to tips with links to in-depth KnowledgeBase resources.

McAfee does not recommend upgrading the Windows operating system to a new major version (such as from Windows 2008 to Windows 2012) for the system that hosts the ePO server, as this can damage the ePO installation. There are, however, several methods of transitioning the ePO server from one system to another - even if the systems are running different Windows versions. For more information on the recommended steps, see KB82672.
