This document details the steps in securely sharing information using USB devices between Protected Sites.
(SITE 1) Creation of a “Key” to encrypt USB devices
(SITE 1) Assign the encryption key to the end user responsible for sending the data
(SITE 1) Assign the Removable media policy to the end user responsible for sending the data
On the client machine, the end user can verify the availability of the encryption key and the policy via the McAfee Tray icon -> Manage Features -> File and Removable Media Protection
(SITE 1) Any files now copied by the end user to the USB device will now be automatically encrypted with the “Secure Share” key. The padlock icon on the Removable Media drive and the files denote that they are encrypted. Any attempt to read these files in an unapproved/unauthorized environment will be unsuccessful.
(SITE 1) Export the “Secure Share” encryption key from the ePO Server
(SITE 2) Import the“Secure Share” key to the ePO server
(SITE 2) Recipient is assigned the “Secure Share” key, and will be able to read encrypted file(s) on the USB device in a transparent manner
