Announcing the availability of McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PC version 7.0 Patch 3

Version 3

McAfee is pleased to announce the immediate availability of McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PC version 7.0 Patch 3. This patch release applies to the Windows implementation only, and includes fixes for customer escalations and internally found defects.

For the full list of important defect fixes, please refer to the Release Notes PD24839

Issues fixed in this Release include:

    • In some systems, the message “Waiting for information” appears and the activation never starts; this is caused by issues during architecture detection (BIOS or UEFI)
    • When using a Dell XPS 13 system, the built-in keyboard and mouse pad fail to work after a warm reboot
    • When upgrading the EEPC extensions from a previous version, the extension check-in may fail or take a substantial amount of time to complete the check in
    • On a system containing two hard drives, if the secondary drive is a GPT disk, the second drive is not encrypted
    • When upgrading from a previous Endpoint Encryption for PC version, if the system is unattended, the upgrade fails
    • After upgrading from a previous Endpoint Encryption for PC version, the new feature to display the CAPS LOCK icon when CAPS LOCK is on may not display
    • On a Dell Latitude E5430 system running in UEFI mode, when the shift keys are pressed, the characters are randomly replaced with erroneous characters

    Note:

    • EEPC 7.0.3 has been validated and tested for compatibility against McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) versions 4.6.4 and later (including the latest release, ePO 4.6.7), and ePO 5.0.1
    • EEPC 7.0.3 is NOT compatible with ePO 5.1.x. Customers wishing to use ePO 5.1 should upgrade to Drive Encryption 7.1
    • Upgrade from EEPC 7.0.3 to the most recent release, Drive Encryption 7.1 is supported. For more details regarding Drive Encryption 7.1, please refer to the DE     7.1 announcement
