1.    Apr 9 2012

VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 Patch 1 Hotfix 735512 Now Available
VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 Patch 1 Hotfix 735512 is now available. This release includes resolutions to the following issues:

·         Host IPS blocks a McAfee process (mfehidin.exe) from setting Access Control List (ACL) on a McAfee driver (mfevtps).

·         A STOP error (Bugcheck 7f) could occur with the McAfee filter driver due to lost content header information when transmitting through a raw socket on Windows 7. This issue was seen with some third-party VPN clients.

·         Third-party products, that inject DLLs into processes, could cause the VirusScan Enterprise service (VsTskMgr.exe) to periodically poll data and frequently log event 516 entries.

·         On-Demand Scan stops responding and high CPU usage from McShield.exe after you install VSE 8.8 Patch 1.

This update was posted Tuesday, April 10, 2012 to the McAfee update repository.

McAfee Security for Mac/VirusScan for Mac 1.1/9.1 HF727444 Now Available
McAfee Security for Mac/VirusScan for Mac 1.1/9.1 HF727444 is now available from the McAfee Downloads site (http://mcafee.com/us/downloads).

This hotfix includes the following fixes:

·         After installing McAfee Security, the DAT update causes File Descriptor leaks that prevent future updates unless you restart your Mac.

·         It takes about 20 seconds for your Mac to shut down if McAfee Security is installed.

NOTE: This hotfix supersedes hotfix HF688476. You do not need to keep HF688476 in the ePolicy Orchestrator Repository after you check in HF727444. For a list of post-release known issues, see KB73473: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB73473.

McAfee announces the End of Life (EOL) for Endpoint Encryption for PC (EEPC) and Endpoint Encryption Manager (EEM) 5.1.x effective May 31, 2012.

A Network Security Emergency User Defined Signature (UDS) has been created to detect this threat:

·         DCERPC: Samba Root Credential RPC Code Generator Remote Code Execution I and II

End of Sale (EOS) and End of Support (EOL) for Firewall Enterprise on Riverbed Hardware
As of April 16, 2012, McAfee will no longer sell Firewall Enterprise for Riverbed appliance hardware. The End of Life and End of Support date will be April 16, 2013.

Please note, this refers ONLY to the Riverbed version of Firewall Enterprise. All other Firewall Enterprise versions will continue to be supported, as will other McAfee solutions on Riverbed hardware.

We understand that this is an expedited timeframe from our normal EOS/EOL communications and appreciate the flexibility and patience of our customers, partners and sales teams.

Please contact your McAfee sales representative or partner for more information or alternative solutions, including other McAfee Firewall Enterprise software and appliances that are available.

Content Reporter (Secure Computing Webwasher) End of Life Announcement
The end of life (EOL) date for the legacy Secure Computing/Webwasher reporting solution Content Reporter is July 16, 2012. Customers should consider McAfee Web Reporter Premium as a replacement.

McAfee Email Gateway (formerly IronMail) End of Life Announcement
McAfee announces the End of Life (EOL) for the following versions and components effective December 31, 2012:

·         McAfee Email Gateway (formerly IronMail) version 6.7.1 HF7

·         Encryption Push/Pull version 6.1.2

·         Encryption Pull version 6.5.4

The suggested replacement for these products is IronMail 6.7.2 HF7 or McAfee Email Gateway (MEG) 7.0*.
