Announcing McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Mac version 1.1

Version 2

Available now, McAfee announces the release of McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Mac (EEMac) version 1.1. EEMac 1.1 aims to have a closer feature parity with McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PCs version 6.1 Patch 2 and provides a broad set of new features focused on improvements in increased hardware support, management and security.

    Key features include:

    • Increased Mac hardware support
    • Easier patch Tuesdays by temporarily suspending pre-boot authentication until the various patches have been deployed
    • Better understanding of the organization’s security posture via improved information from logs
    • Customize a range of tasks like user and password management using EEMac scripting via ePO
    • Get new users started quicker by skipping the step of starting with an initial default password

    • For increased security, can optionally set policy based lockout of devices to network resources if there’s been no recent check-in to the network/ePO
    • Can destroy all end-of-life recovery data on the management console for maximum, end-of-life, irreversible destruction of data
